How we teach PSHE

At Yardley Wood Community Primary School, we use a DfE approved programme called Jigsaw to teach PSHE (Personal, Social, Health Education): this includes both non-statutory and statutory elements within the subject.

Children at Yardley Wood participate in Jigsaw lessons each week where they focus on mindfulness as part of their 'Calm Me' time followed by discussion and idea-sharing activities. Each term we focus on a new theme which is followed up each year as the children progress through school. This allows them to deepen their learning in a number of different ways.
