Reading Resources

Research has shown that reading for pleasure can not only enhance a child’s educational development and achievement, but their personal development too. The best way to help your child is to continue to share books with them, regularly listen to them read, sometimes reading to or with them, but also discussing books read in increasing depth.

Reading at home with your child, even for 10 minutes a day, can significantly improve their reading fluency, rhythm and expression.

Please find below some top tips for setting up a positive reading environment at home wit your child, along with some suggested questions that you could ask them as you are reading together. If you need any support with reading at home with your child, please contact their class teacher.
